After the graduation from high school in 1996, I attended Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in Ljubljana, Slovenia, from which I graduated in September 2001 with a B.Sc. in mathematics. My bachelor's work Upper bounds for the connective constant in Z^d was awarded with the Močnik award. While studying mathematics I was a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Economics.

After obtaining the B. Sc. degree, I attended the interdisciplinary postgraduate study at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. My mentor of studies was prof. dr. France Mihelič. I obtained the M. Sc. degree in electrical engineering in June 2004 with the master's thesis entitled Natural Language Human-Computer Dialogue Management and the Ph.D. degree in June 2006 with the thesis entitled Knowledge representation and performance evaluation of cooperative dialogue systems. My Ph.D. thesis was awarded with the Pomurje research award 2006.

As a teaching assistant of mathematics I have been working at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. My research, done within the Laboratory of Applied Mathematics and the
Laboratory of Artificial Perception, Systems and Cybernetics, is concerned with the spoken-language technology and database modeling.

Publications [PDFs]
I have published some papers and given several presentations on the subject of dialogue management, dialogue-system evaluation, and database modeling at national and international conferences.

I am a member of the International Speech Communication Association, the Slovenian Mathematician's, Physicist's and Astronomer's Society, the Slovenian Pattern Recognition Society, PAZU, DUP, ©D FE in FRI, KK Pomurje, and the Astronomical association Kmica.

Foreign languages
My first and second foreign languages are German and English, respectively. However, at the Slovenian primary and secondary school competitions in the German language I was both times placed under the first five. In addition, in 2004 I passed the Business English Certificate (BEC) Vantage examination.

My favorite hobbies are running, cycling, and swimming. In 2004 I finished my first half marathon (21km). This was a great success since a few years before I ran the 100m, the shortest distance in track athletics, and was a member of the Slovenian junior team. On the other hand, in 2007 I finnished my first swimming marathon (4km). In 2008 I began to participate in triathlon races.
