Author Instructions
All the participants that wish to make a presentation are invited to submit an extended abstract (up to one page) of their proposed presentation along with a copy of their curriculum vitae, including contact information, by 17 May 2013. Authors should upload an extended abstract of max 1200 words via EasyChair Conference Management System by 17 May 2013 as well at the following address https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=opensur2013.
A limited number of presentations will be approved given the planned length of the workshop. Presenters will be selected by the Workshop Scientific Committee based on the material submitted. All the selected presenters will be asked to submit their presentations to the organizers by 21 June 2013.
Each workshop session will address one selected topic in order to give the panel adequate time to elaborate and make policy recommendations. The topics of the workshop will be organised around the following themes:
- - Economic and social impact of surveillance
- - Data collection and analysis for crime fight
- - The effectiveness of CCTV in preventing and solving crime
- - Social network analysis for crime fight
- - Possibilities and problems of geolocalisation
- - Regulating surveillance: Measures, dilemmas and limitations
Due to the workshop format, all presenters will be asked to conclude their presentations with a list of policy recommendations related to the above topics.
Selected presenters will be invited to submit a full paper after the workshop to be considered for publication in a special issue of a peer-reviewed journal.
